1 ohm 10 watt resistor radio shack
BUILDING YOUR OWN LAUNCH SYSTEM AND LAUNCH PAD
Almost any ¼ or ½ watt resistor will work, if it is somewhere between 500 – 1,000 ohms. You can buy resistors anywhere you buy LEDs, and they cost perhaps 10 cents each. The continuity indicator, as wired in the Variation #2 diagram, will not work unless the Safety Key is …

This chip must be ordered at a Radio Shack as it is not a normal stocked item. You also need a small 1/4 watt 2200 ohm resistor. Schematically this change goes on the logic board. The buffers in the 7417 that I am using are as follows: Buffer A, input pin 3, output pin 4.

This radio mod with 200ohm and milliamp current shouldn’t need a 1 watt resistor. Seems like it is overkill. A 1/4 watt resistor on the (removed) q 571 c/e pads could also serve to find the sweet speed - this way the fan is always on when the radio is on. You could even rig something with a pot to have a manual fan speed this way.

The Sangean ATS-909, and the Radio Shack DX-398, is a portable shortwave radio about the size of a large trade paperback. It tunes from 150 kHz to 29,999 kHz and from 88 to 108 MHz in four bands. It can receive single-sideband in true LSB/USB, rather than the simple BFO of most portables of its class, though it doesn't offer synchronous detection.
