30 inch soybean population

    • DATE:

A bedder was located within the OSU Plant and Soil Sciences Department and modified to build 30 inch beds by Dr.’s Jason Warren and Chad Godsey. The bedder was delivered to Brent who then did all of the tillage, bedding, planting, and harvesting. Yield was measured by using a weigh wagon purchased and owned by the Oklahoma Soybean Commission.

Mary Lou planted 450 acres of corn. She planted 32,000 seeds per acre using 80,000 kernel bags of seed corn with a 90% germination rate. Her planter is set on 30 inch rows and each bag costs $185.00. What will the plant population be per acre? How many seeds per row foot should be planted? How many inches should be between the kernels?

Multiply 17,424 x 6 = 104,544 seed per acre as a final seeding rate using this scenario. You can also estimate pounds of seed per acre from this final seed ...

Mar 22, 2017 · Soybeans are an essential tool in crop rotations used in present agriculture. Prior studies in various regions have shown that soybean [Glycine max] yields are increased when the placement of rows is narrower. Traditionally, rows are placed 30 inches apart whereas narrow rows entail placement 8.5 inches apart.
