With a valve spring pressure of 80 lbs at installed height of 1.70” 195 lbs at open height of 1.270” We are NOT making the 602 Crate Engine mandatory in 2021. The motor rules will stay the same for 2021 as they are in 2020.

      Even the smallish 1 3/4-inch tube size is quite a bit larger than the port itself. The heads are off at this point and 4.18-inch (over .060 400) CP pistons are clearly visible. ARP head studs provide superior clamping force over regular bolts, a necessity for an engine with this power level and just 4-head bolt holes per cylinder.

      You may use the GM 6-3/4” harmonic balancer, part # 12551537, or the GM harmonic balancer that comes with the crate engine. (D) It is mandatory to use the GM 1.5 ratio rocker arms, part # 12367345, on all GM sealed crate engines. (E) It is mandatory for all crate engines to use the 650 CFM Holley, part # 0-80541-1 carburetor.

      Engines with front mounted distributors: up to four inches (4”) setback from centerline of upper ball joints. Crate Engines may use four-inch (4”) setback. Engines may not be offset more than one inch (1”) from centerline of car. Front center of crankshaft must have at least ten inches (10”) of ground clearance.
