This is an abnormal myocardial perfusion study with evidence for LAD territory ischemia, normal wall motion, and a normal post stress ejection fraction. Compared to the prior study from October 18, 2011, the current study reveals new LAD territory ischemia. The above results were discussed with the patient.

[The left ventricular cavity size is noted to be [normal/enlarged] on the rest [and/or] stress studies] (only if abnormal). [There is transient ischemic dilatation.] (if present) [There is evidence of abnormal lung activity.] (if present)

Myocardial perfusion imaging with SPECT or PET, however, is usually not bothered by variable heart rates. A drawback of perfusion imaging, on the other hand, is the need of pharmacological stress or exercise which can be simply simulated with FFR CT from resting images (10). Of note, results of these tests provide essentially different ...

Similarly, among the 51 patients with abnormal perfusion defects (regardless of FDG findings), there was a significant, although weaker, association of abnormal myocardial perfusion with future events (log rank p = 0.037).

Previous CAD was present in 202 patients (56.4 %) including: i) AMI (n=70/202, 34.7 %); ii) myocardial revascularization (39/202, 19.3 %; iii) myocardial ischemia documented in our department (90 ...

Although vasodilator stress may not always produce ischemia, for ease of interpretation, the term ischemia is used in this manuscript to represent reversible perfusion defects. When stress myocardial perfusion was normal, the rest perfusion was assumed to …

A pearl to remember is that even myocardial ischemia can worsen with recumbency (angina decubiti) due to an increase in venous return and a temporary greater workload. Attribution of the discomfort of myocardial ischemia to a musculoskeletal etiology. Chest wall tenderness is reported in up to 5% of patients who prove to have an MI.

Myocardial ischemia induced by abnormal thick-wall intramural coronary arteries, trigger factor for fibrosis and compensatory hypertrophy. Several other mechanisms have been suggested as causes of myocardial ischemia in patients with HCM (table XIX-2), but the predominant mechanism, or a general ischemic pattern was still impossible to be ...

Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Protocol. Rationale: Myocardial perfusion imaging utilizes an intravenously administered radiopharmaceutical to show the distribution of blood flow in the myocardium. Perfusion imaging is useful to identify areas of relatively or absolutely reduced myocardial blood flow associated with ischemia or scar.
