Area and width calculator
How do you calculate length width and height?
Area is calculated by multiplying length times width times height. Forty feet times 20 feet times 15 feet is 12,000 cubic feet. Length, width and height can also be used individually to measure two-dimensional objects. For example, a coiled rope can be laid out straight and the length measured from end to end.
How do you find perimeter length and width?
We know the basic equation to find perimeter is: Perimeter=length+length+width+width. First write out the problem using variables: x=length y=width. Perimeter (p)=92. We know that the formula for perimeter in terms of our variables then is 92=2x+2y. Given length is 16 m less than width, we can write x= y-16.
Is area length times width?
For a square these are the same number as all four sides of a square are equal. The formula for the area of a rectangle would be: Area = Length times the width. The area of a square would be: Area = side times side. For this figure the area would be 12 times 12 or 144 square units.
How to write dimensions correctly?
Write the physical dimensions of a page or an object by using the word “by” and not multiplication sign or the letter “x”. Use the multiplication sign “x” (× in HTML) (but not the letter “x”) for expressing screen resolution.
