CHP Aircraft: The CHP has nine helicopters and 15 fixed-wing aircraft. Each CHP Division uses either a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft, or both, to provide a variety of motorist services or enforce traffic laws. Helicopters are used in search and rescue missions, medical evacuations, and for search and apprehension of suspected law breakers.
