Detection and treatment of blistering disorders that manifest early in the oral cavity may prevent widespread skin involvement. The condition known as pemphigus represents four related chronic autoimmune vesiculobullous diseases: pemphigus vulgaris, pemphigus vegetans, pemphigus erythematosus, and pemphigus foliaceus.
