      On 19 November 1967, U.S. Army Chaplain / Roman Catholic priest Father Charles Watters of the 173rd Airborne Brigade earned the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously while saving wounded soldiers in a fierce battle in the Dak To province. This being the 35th Anniversary of his death, I have included this article in his honor.

      My personal background took me from the Phillips Exeter Academy, to West Point, to volunteering for Vietnam service where I was assigned as an intelligence officer in the 5th Special Forces Group. A mortar round in an attack at Dak To on June 17, 1967, wounded me and required the amputation of both legs below the knees. God healed and restored me.
