What are the drill commands?
A drill command is an oral order. Most drill commands have two parts, the preparatory command and the command of execution. On this web site we capitalized and printed the first letter of preparatory command in boldface (Squadron), and we printed the command of execution in all caps and boldface (ATTENTION).
What is the purpose of drill and ceremony?
Drill and Ceremony. The purpose of drill is to enable a commander or non-commissioned officer to move his unit from one place to another in an orderly manner; to aid in disciplinary training by instilling habits of precision and response to the leader's orders;and to provide for the development of all soldiers in the practice of commandingtroops.
