With a ATI converter, fresh tranny and lots of testing and tuning it ran a best the first year of 12.52 @ 106 on slicks. 1997 brought a runner up in the car show and a win in the pro bracket at the 1st Buicks at Bristol. In 1998 at the GS Nats we had a 1st place in the show, a runner up in GS Street Stock and its best run ever run, 12.25 @108.

How high was the compression ratio? I run 18-19 PSI in my stock 2.5 liter, with no problems for last 20k (knock on wood). On the other hand, I dyno tuned it using a combination of ARC2, fuel pressure, injectors, chips, MAF, etc. to keep the air-fuel ratio safe. If I tuned it for 12 and cranked it to 19, I could probably blow it up pretty fast.
