Causes & Treatment for Dizziness and Ringing in Ears
- 1rapid rotation and abrupt cessation of movement in swivel chair; 2vigorous head shaking in horizontal plane (patient with Frenzel lenses) for about 10 sec - if nystagmus develops after shaking stops, even in absence of vertigo, vestibular dysfunction is demonstrated (maneuver can then be repeated in vertical plane).
