On my last morning in Savannah, my goal was to photograph the equestrian relief sculpture on the monument to Casimir Pulaski in the slant of shadows created by the morning sun. In midday light, the absence of shadows renders the sculpture flat and uninteresting. Only when light and dark provide contrast does the sculpture reveal its character.
