In some studies the implicit prejudice measure is reliably associated with participants' scores on explicit racial attitude measures (Wittenbrink et al., 1997; von Hippel et al., 1997). In other studies there is no relationship between the implicit and the explicit measures (Fazio, Jackson, Dunton, & Williams, 1995; Karpinski & Hilton, 2001).
