A layer of moon surface powder on a structure will raise its thermal absorptivity. On the daytime side of the moon, where the surface is sufficiently hot to thermally radiate in the infrared spectrum, the structure will absorb this thermal energy and heat up, leading to deleterious performance issues.
INTRODUCTION TO INFRARED (IR) SPECTROSCOPY
This is an excellent Spectroscopy database web site that contains IR, MS, NMR and CNMR scans for many organic compounds. Alkanes ( CH3 @ 2960 & 2850 cm-1 and @ 1460 & 1380 cm-1

The results of this study, at least for the two airmasses considered, can be used to identify parts of the infrared spectrum where model and/or spectroscopic errors are significant. Recommendation. The EUMETSAT Line by Line intercomparison is a valuable attempt to document biases in LbL models. It should be extended to more airmass types.

The percent recovery from cloves will be determined and the product will be analyzed by transmission infrared spectroscopy (IR) as a neat sample using NaCl plates5 to confirm its structure. This will be done in two ways: (1) by looking at the major absorptions in the spectrum and comparing them to a correlation table6 and (2) by comparing the ...

The TM scanner measures light intensity in the visible and infrared parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. Measurements are collected from seven broad spectral bands (Table 2), three nearly contiguous bands spanning most of the visible part of the spectrum (Bands 1, 2 and 3) and four more widely spaced bands covering critical portions of the ...

Eim A. Chemist. CHEM 303. June 16, 2005. INTRODUCTION “Essential oils” are the volatile components associated with the aromas of many plants.1 In this experiment, the essential oil eugenol (the main component of oil of cloves) will be isolated from ground cloves using the technique of steam distillation, which is often used to isolate liquid natural products from plants.2

All molecules, including carbonyls, can be identified by comparing the fingerprint region of the spectrum (500 – 1500 cm-1) to a spectral database. INFRARED SPECTRA OF CARBOXYLIC ACIDS Carboxylic acids can be identified by the presence of an intense, sharp peak at 1700 cm-1, which results from a C=O stretch, and a very broad peak at 2500 ...
