The original Cyclopes Argos, Steropes, and Brontes were minor gods of the second generation and children of Uranus and Gaia. The Cyclopes were metal workers and blacksmiths who assisted the god Hephaestus in constructing lightning bolts for Zeus, the trident that was made for Poseidon and the helmet of darkness that was given to Hades.
