Cystinuric dogs with DCM may be suffering from 1carnitine deficiency. As with taurine deficiency, though, Icarnitine deficiency more likely is the exception rather than the rule. Vitamin E and selenium deficiencies have been associated with myocardial disease in some young dogs, but they do not appear to be common causes.
