Some years ago I published a study of the passage in Plato’s Theaetetus known as Socrates’ ‘Dream Theory of Knowledge’1. In that paper I argued that Socrates’ dream theory posed difficulties for a view of knowledge Plato had presented--evidently as problem free--in a number of earlier dialogues.
