The Sons of the Pioneers - Hollywood Walk of Fame
In late 1947, they return to the area and are married in a private ceremony at the Flying L Ranch on December 31, 1947. The next day, they repeat their vows in a public ceremony at Ardmore’s Civic Auditorium. Music is provided by the Sons of the Pioneers and admission is 50 cents. May 1955 Memorial Hospital opens.

John Rawlston Poole was the first child of Macajah Poole and Rebecca Rawlston Poole in a family of eight sons and two daughters. He was born on May 13th, 1829, in the state of Indiana. The family has no authentic account of the town or county in which he was born. When he was eight years of age his parents moved to Iowa.

The firm of Ford and Sons continued until 1886, when Ford Sr retired from active business. His sons continued for a time under the name of Ford Brothers Land and Livestock Company and later incorporated under the same names. The firm included the older brothers John, Joseph, Hyrum and John's five sons.

Several of his sons live in this and the adjoining towns. Benjamin Parkman accompanied Daniel Johnson and William Cooper from Saratoga in 1818, and still lives in town, an old and respected citizen ; and George Flower and Samuel K. Strickland, pioneers of the same period, removed to Dayton, after residing in Perrysburg a number of years.
