Summer workbooks for 3rd graders

With that in mind, here are the summer expectations for our students. READING - Children should continue to read at their independent level each day. (10 minutes for incoming 1st graders, 15 minutes for incoming 2nd graders or 30 minutes for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders).

Rising 3rd grade readers will be required to keep a reading log over the summer. Similar to the workbook, the book log is designed to be completed throughout the summer, not to be rushed through for a completion grade. Reading at least 30 minutes, 3 nights a week is required for a full completion grade of the reading log.
