Lymph nodes are the first place breast cancer is likely to spread. When a tumor forms in the breast, it can enter the lymphatic vessels via stroma and regenerates in the lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are found in the underarm creating a passageway for cancer to spread. As a result, some people with breast cancer develop Lymphedema in the arms.
