The Scorpions History. The Scorpion Battalion was activated 15 April 1941 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana as a part of the 2nd Armored Regiment. The unit cadre was provided by the 66th Armored Regiment of the 2nd Armored Division. On 8 May 1941 the 2nd Armored Regiment was re-designated as the 32nd Armored Regiment.
