PPV for ICD-10 codes (for confirmed ICVT) of 92.3% (60 of 65) (95% CI 82.8–97.1%). To our knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the use of ICD-10 codes for identifying patients with ICVT. We suggest that using the ICD-10 coding system for both the selection and assign-ment of diagnosis codes is sufficiently accurate for this purpose.
