Mark is the only one of the writers that remarks, “moved with compassion.” The word in the Greek denotes a deep inward agitation, a welling up inside. Jesus is moved to the very depths of His being and there is a burning desire in His heart to relieve this pained feeling, this deep, inward disturbance that He had for this man.
