The Kiernan Group Kathleen Kiernan (pending) Cognos (pending) NOT a panel, each speaking on their own merits. Intelligence Briefing: Domestic Terrorism (West Point?) and Yalkin Demirkaya, HYPERLINK "http://www.cyberdiligence.com" CyberDiligence has agreed to speak, meeting with Tom and Laurie this week. Cyber Terrorism Advisory - When people talk about terrorism related issues they sometimes overlook the intelligence gathering that is conducted before the actual act. For example, a few years ago just by luck Yalkin got his hands on a laptop computer in a cave at Afghanistan which contained blueprints of buildings and financial institutions in the US. Obviously someone on the inside took them and gave them to the terrorist. Our critical infrastructure is not best protected by the government but by private organizations. These organizations need to be better equipped and better trained to deal with the threat posed by foreign nations, terrorist groups, etc. In most data thefts, the act goes undetected because of shear ignorance, false trust in the security of the data or by simply not being aware of such threats. The question I pose is how many such laptops are out there. My lecture concentrates on how to detect and prevent these threats and what Measures should be (an importantly what should not be) taken when one is suspected. International Terrorism (Tom to reach out to ODNI), Kathleen may be able to help us here as well. SAIC (pending) Again, speaking individually Private Sector Intelligence Capabilities - PANEL MODERATED by Steve Hunt (confirmed) Security Dreamer Security Analyst (tentative title and speakers) extended session asking Steve to help in forming the panel: Lehman Brothers Jesse to present their CIA product Intel ? with Tom PANEL MODERATED by Steve Hunt HYPERLINK "http://www.securitydreamer.com" Security Dreamer Security Analyst. Hunt Business Intelligence is an industry advisory firm led by Steve Hunt. Hunt, noted industry expert, who was named one of the 25 most influential people in the security industry by Security Magazine and a CSO Magazine Compass Award winner (2006), founded the first industry analyst firm to focus on the convergence of physical security and IT. Steve formerly led the security research teams of Forrester Research and Giga Information Group (1998-2005) and has been an advisor to dozens of the world's leading corporations, government agencies, professional associations and news organizations during his 25-year career Security Operations Centers have the need to effectively integrate their platforms to form one cohesive, unified infrastructure platform. They are focused on the Risk Management, Compliance Standards and ROI for the allocation of their funding for integration and application development. Identifying technology sources that effectively integrate security platforms is what HYPERLINK "http://www.nym-infragard.us/" InfraGard Metro New York has embarked upon for the past number of years. The NY Law Enforcement Security Expo 2008 scheduled for July 10th will provide presentations and demonstration of an elite core of technologies that offer solutions that address not only the operations of a security command center, but also technologies for analyzing the volumes of structured and unstructured data that up until now have been difficult to use for investigation and risk mitigation analysis. The technologies to be showcased are proven solutions. Fully integrated technology that allow for enhanced analytical evaluation, monitoring of high volumes of information from disparate sources, and the ability to integrate information with other known intelligence automatically, is what InfraGard will highlight at this years Expo. Global deployment case studies will be discussed. InfraGard has accepted a special invitation from the HYPERLINK "http://www.palawexpo.com/nynewfiles/exhbtrlist.html" New York Law Enforcement Security Expo to participate at this years Security Expo at Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Plans are underway to offer an Event Brief/web broadcast of the technology presentations from the InfraGard Metro New York Membership Alliances focused forum of technology experts. Registration for this broadcast will be made available through the HYPERLINK "http://www.nym-infragard.us/" InfraGard website. If you are interested in having your technology considered for this showcase, please contact Joe Concannon, President InfraGard Metro New York.
