The weekly homework menu is designed to be completed on your family's timetable in a "pick and choose" fashion. The menu lists spelling/vocabulary, writing, and reading activities. Your child is to chooseat least one activity from EACH COLUMN. Each assignment has been assigned a point value.Your activities MUST add up to 10 or more points by the end of the week. The activities will be completed in your childs reading folder. Some of the activities will not require paper (these activities are starred), so you can just date, list and initial the activity in the reading folder. Please note that there will be one mandatory activity that will have to be completed weekly. The written activities should not take more than 10-15 minutes. I will send the next weeks spelling and vocabulary list home each Friday for those that want to get started completing the activities. The words can also be found on my website. Please keep this menu attached to the front cover of your childsreading folder so your child can have it every week to do their homework with. I will post this menu on my class website in case you misplace it or need another copy. At the top of each activity please label the subject (spelling, writing, and reading). Try to encourage your child to complete different activities weekly rather than always doing the same one. I would like for them to challenge themselves with varied activities. Help them to remember the purpose of this homework is to promote higher level reading, writing, and thinking skills. Please email me if you have any questions. Thank you so much for your help and support at home!
