Therefore, drawing meaningful conclusions from sample data requires an understanding of properties of randomness. In this topic you will study how sample proportions vary from sample to sample, in a predictable manner that enables us to draw conclusions about the underlying population. Activity 16-1: Parameters and Statistics Recall that a population consists of the entire group of people of objects of interest to an investigator, while a sample refers to the part of the population that the investigator actually studies.
