SECRETARYS REPORT: Following a motion by Mary Mignogna and seconded by Barb Wilson, the General Membership voted to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of the General Membership meeting of September 19, 2011 as published. TREASURERS REPORT: report submitted by Stacy Judge Our total assets as of the end of the month were $229,582.71. Our net income last month was $12,740.39. An income statement, cash flow report & balance sheet is being passed around to all in attendance. Are there any questions? CORRESPONDING SECRETARY: Judy Drotarno report COMMITTEE REPORTS: Hospitality: Ann Cicero has one cake for January. Program: Shelley Kacenski has arranged for Dr. James Akenhead of Signature K-9 Behavior & Training to be our January speaker. The topic for the evening will be dog aggression. Welfare: Kathy Taleos Ann Cicero had foot surgery. Bill Allens father-in-law passed awaythe calling hours are Tuesday, November 22 from 4-8 P.M. Training: Dale Burrier The first half 2012 training schedule has been sent to the printer and is also online. Instructors are needed for obedience and agility. There will be fly ball classes on Monday evenings starting in January if there is enough interest. The cost for the 6-week class is $70 for nonmembers and $35 for members. The time has not been determined. Let Judy Drotar know if you are interested. There will be a new Relationship Class starting on Saturdays at 12:30 which will include free shaping and control. The class is 8 weeks and the cost is $90 for nonmembers and $45 for members. The instructors are Lotta Shafer and Glenda Russell. Obedience and Rally Trial: Mary Mignogna and Lori Baker The October 28-30 obedience and rally trials went well. Bob Squires, one of the judges, sent an email with many positive comments which included the fact that we had good stewards. Rod Waller and Dick Zampini were thanked for parking cars. Sharon did an outstanding job with the raffle which raised $1327. Thanks to Kim for the outstanding trophies. Becky was thanked for the good food in the kitchen. The Border Collie rescue that escaped during the rally trial was found approximately 7 to 10 days later at the reservoir. Obedience Run-ThrusKim Burrier reported that the second Tuesday of the month the order of the run thrus is utility, open and novice. The third Tuesday is beginner novice only. On the fourth Tuesdays the order is novice, open and utility. Two handlers from other clubs were very appreciative of how well our run thrus are conducted and for Kim and Dales help. They mentioned this in newsletters at other clubs. Rally Run ThrusMary Mignogna reported that the run thrus are on the first Tuesday of the month and the order is excellent, advanced and novice. Agility Trial: Sandy Irish, Debbie Harper, Mike Coates December 3-4, 2011 TrialDebbie Harper reported that JoAnn Fedyski is in charge of scheduling workers. Perri Graf is in charge of food. A signup sheet for food donations was circulated at the meeting. Lynda Tushar is in charge of the raffle. The trial closed in one day and the waiting list filled the first day, also. March 17-18, 2012 Trial--Sandy Irish reported that the plans for the trial are moving along. The trial almost always fills. Jeff Ipser is the judge and will be traveling back and forth to his home during the trial, therefore, saving the club a hotel bill. June 9-10, 2012 Trial--Debbie Harper reported that YABTC will be working with the Gordon Setter Club of America. The GSCA has submitted the application to AKC. August 18-19, 2012 Trial--Sandy Irish reported that this will be a 2-ring trial at the Mayor Ralph Infante Wellness Center in Niles, Ohio. It has double soccer fields and is air conditioned. A lot more workers will be needed for this trial. Agility Run Thrus: Sandy Irish and Debbie Harper Debbie reported that the last run thrus were held on November 12 and brought in $207. Janet Yosay took pictures that day, also, and all of the photo slots were filled. Publicity: Diana James reported that some club members did an agility demonstration at the park in North Jackson. The club sent a registration fee to Paws Town for renting a space at their fun day which was held in Boardman Park. Diana has contacted the newspaper about agility events. Public Education: Jamie Thompson-no report Awards: Debby McLaughlin Members who have earned a title between December 1, 2010 and November 30, 2011 may fill out an awards form. They are due by the end of the first full week in December. Debby prefers that the information be emailed to her; however, Perri will take those that are left at the building to Debby. The pictures will be taken down from last years awards and will be put in a notebook. Building Maintenance: Ed Newsome and Dale Burrier The mice problem in the building is bad this yearsix have been caught since the obedience trial. Please pick up any treats that are on the floor. If you find any plastic containers of treats, put them in the refrigerator as the mice will eat through the containers. The building was bombed for fleas after the trial. Members are asked to help out at the building by emptying trash cans, sweeping or shoveling snow. Finance: report submitted by Stacy Judge Due to a large fluctuation in our investment, the Board held a special meeting with our broker. We will need to re-evaluate our position. Membership: Judy Drotar reported that she will send the finalized membership list to Stacy. If members havent renewed their membership by now, they must reapply. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Catherine Zinsky Seminar was a huge success. Lots of one on one training with the dogs took place. Sharon Phillips is to be thanked for having her come. There are videos on Catherines website that can be viewed for free. She allowed videotaping of her seminar. Thanks to Perri for preparing the food. Jane Killion will be presenting another seminar in the spring of 2012. She does free shaping and writes for Clean Run Magazine. Policy CommitteeElaine Shively will have the policy changes typed up by the first of January, 2012. Helen White has written two books about her dog Percy and has donated some of them to the club. The cost is $15. NEW BUSINESS Conformation classes will be starting January 29, 2012 and will run for six weeks through February 26. The approximate cost is $60 per person and includes one entry to the puppy match on March 4. Contact Susan Fithian to register. YABTC cook books are for sale for $12 each. The annual awards dinner will be held on Thursday, December 29 at the Fifth Season Catering in Mineral Ridge. There will be a Chinese raffle and a West Virginia raffle.
