Between school, extracurricular activities, teams, clubs, student government, athletics there is barely time to breathe. Let’s face it. You’ve got a lot to do and there just isn’t enough time. Habit 3, PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST, can help. It’s all about learning to prioritize and manage your time so that your firsts things come first, not last. Putting first things first also deals with learning to overcome your fears and being strong during hard moments. Say: In Habit 2, you decided what your first things are. Habit 3, then, is about putting them first in your life. The first three habits build upon each other Habit 1 says, “You are the driver, not the passenger to your own life.” Habit 2 says, “ Decide where you want to go and draw up a map to get you there.” Habit 3 says, “Get there! Don’t let roadblocks take you off course.” Say: We are going to take a little time to reflect to see how you are currently doing with putting first things first. Get out a piece of scrap paper or write your answers somewhere, so you can calculate your answers at the end. *(Give them a second to get paper out)* Okay for each statement I read, either mark True this is me or False I don’t do this…. True or False I frequently grab fast food or junk or skip meals because I don’t have time to sit down to a real meal. I cram for a test the night before. I write papers the night before they are due. I rarely read thorough them before I turn them in. I frequently arrive late to appointments, practice, school, etc. I am not good at planning or organizing. I can’t seem to get motivated without pressure being applied. I am frequently preoccupied with one thing while I am doing something else. I feel frustrated by the slowness of people and things around me; I hate to wait or stand in line. I seem to rush between places and events. I rarely have time or save time for myself. I frequently wish I had thought about things and acted sooner. Often, I am just too late. I miss friends’ and family birthdays. I frequently miss assignments or appointments. **** Have them count the number of Trues they have**** Say: Okay, not count how many True you have. If you have : 10-13 True you are Quadrant 4. If you have 7-9 True you are Quadrant 1 If you have 3-6 True, you are Quadrant 3. If you have 0-2 True, you areQuadrant 2 Do: Hang up the Quadrant sign in each corner, along with the description. Have each person move to their Quadrant. Say: Take 5-10 minutes to read about the Quadrant you fall in, then look at sheet with all the Time Quadrants to see which one you wish you were in… Do: Give them Time. Say: Everyone please go back to your seats. Ask: What did you find out about yourself? Was the information true? What are you going to do now with this information? How can Putting First Things First help you? Conclusion: Say- The better you organize yourself, the more time you will have for family and friends, school, yourself, and your first things. If you want to reach your goals and be successful, you have to start planning ahead. Think of ways you can begin to do that. )*+1п0 1 2 6 7 ~ ž Г Ж * Р С * Гяє +7U`abnqŠШгс”‘МНїђэђшфрфригрЯрирЫФПђПЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЫЛЯЛЗГЌЇ  hj0hХ@ъ hj0>* hj0hGDhDghGDhЅAQ hЬ;I>* h•`зh•`зhЬ;IhХ"У h•`з>*h•`зh•`з>*h•`зhžа hžа>* h ь>* hіNy>*hіNyhіNy>*0*+,1 2 В Г С ) * “ З ZƒС p›Ч"Hїїїђђђђђэээххнннннннннннн & FgdЬ;I$a$gdЬ;IgdіNygdžа$a$gdіNyНўHxyАБВГс7bŠ‹–—Ќклс!U‚ƒїђђђђђђђђђђђђђђђђђђђђъъъъхgdGD & FgdGDgdЬ;I & FgdЬ;Iƒ‘’“”•–—˜™š›œžŸ ЁЂЃЄЅІЇЈЉЊЋЌњѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕѕgdіNygdGDЌЎЏАБВГДЕЖЗИЙКЛМНњњњњњњњњњњњњњњњњѕgd5wСgdіNy 1hАа/ Ар=!А"А# $ %Аœ@@ёџ@ NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH DA@ђџЁD Default Paragraph FontRi@ѓџГR Table Normalі4ж l4жaі (k@єџС(No ListН "џџџџ*+,12ВГС)*“ЗZƒС p›Ч"HxyАБВГс 7 b Š ‹ – — Ќ к л с !
