Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture looks like tiny dirt crumbs looks like brown sugar. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture & pack down lightly with a fork. Bake for 40-45 minutes. (If using a glass casserole dish, bake 30-40 minutes without the lid on.)
