Consultants receive two days of training before the fall semester begins, as well as ongoing training throughout the academic year. This ongoing training includes monthly staff meetings, small group meetings with fellow consultants, and guided reading on best practices of peer writing tutoring. In addition, our staff members are involved in projects that promote the aims of the Writing Center, such as advertising and classroom presentations. Our consultants believe that writing effectively can be a way of serving Christ, and they desire for the Center to be a site of Christian hospitality. They find their work in the Writing Center to be both professionally rewarding and personally meaningful. Who Should Apply?
