Box 203 Gridley, Kansas 66852 Phone: 620-836-3285 HYPERLINK "mailto:frenchfoundation@embarqmail.com" \t "_blank" frenchfoundation@embarqmail.com REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS The student is required to maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average on not less than 12-college (degree) credit hours per semester. (Clock hours must be approved by the Trustees before enrolling in any clock hour classes.) College credit hours are hours earned and credited toward the students degree. Taking classes that do not count as college credit hours will not be included in the 12 hours you are required to take. An OFFICIAL, CERTIFIED grade transcript is required at the end of each semester that the student receives the award, regardless of the grade point average earned for the semester. This also applies to the semester of the students graduation. A CERTIFIED copy of the enrollment/class schedule for the current semester is required. Most colleges include this on the updated transcript. The class schedule printed from the Internet is acceptable ONLY when a signed letter from the registrar supports it. A CERTIFIED copy of the fees paid receipt showing the fees paid information for the current semester or that a payment plan has been worked out is required at the beginning of each semester. A signed letter from the cashier is acceptable. THE NAME of the STUDENT and the NAME of the INSTITUTION the student is attending must appear visibly on each required document. ALL of the THREE required documents MUST be received by: FEBRUARY 28th for the Spring Semester and OCTOBER 15TH for the Fall Semester each year. The scholarship award check will not be issued to the student until all proper OFFICIAL, CERTIFIED documents have been received. The scholarship award check will be issued in the students name and sent to the home address. Only upon special request by the student will the scholarship award check be sent to the students college address. It is your responsibility to keep us informed of a change of address or contact information. Sharing your college email address, when it is available to you, will be most helpful. COMMUNICATION is VERY important. Unless the student communicates with the Trustees of the Foundation, the Trustees do not know that he/she is experiencing difficulty. The difficulty might be acquiring the proper documents to receive the scholarship award check, enrolling in and finishing the required number of credit hour classes in any semester, illness, family situations; whatever might arise. Only students in good standing that communicate his/her progress, keep the Trustees informed of his/her graduation date and meet all other requirements of the Foundation will be assured of the retention of his/her scholarship. The scholarships are CONTINUING, consecutive semester, SCHOLARSHIPS. The original amount is available to the student each semester he/she continues his/her education as a full-time student and maintains the academic standards set by the Foundation. This includes not only two- and four-year degrees, but the pursuit of degrees to other fields, such as medicine, law, etc. provided that the student continues in the graduate program in the semester following graduation from the undergraduate program. The student must receive approval from the Trustees prior to entrance into the graduate program to retain scholarship status. INTERNSHIP and STUDY ABROAD participation MUST be discussed with the Trustees prior to entering the program to retain scholarship status. CHANGING SCHOOLS/MAJORS: When a student makes a decision to change schools and/or majors, it is required that the Foundation be notified promptly, giving reasons for such changes. The Trustees will evaluate the validity of the change(s) and determine the students eligibility for continued Scholarship support.
