In addition, it offers an excellent opportunity for younger students to become familiar with basic computer skills. Objectives: Students will be able to correctly alphabetize the list of ten animals. Students will be able to independently use drag and drop. Materials: Alphabet Animals worksheet, scanned Procedure: Students will be introduced to the process of alphabetization through standard classroom instruction. The teacher will prepare the Alphabet Animals worksheet by sending the word document to Kurzweil 3000 using the Virtual Printer and then setting up the fill-in-the-blanks feature. After set-up, students will be instructed to complete the Alphabet Animals worksheet on the computer. They should be instructed to alphabetize the list of animals at the top of the page. The students, with assistance, can use the drop and drag feature to put the animals in correct alphabetical order. This virtual manipulation of the words allows for mistake tolerant practice of skills. If alphabetizing assistance is needed during the activity, an alphabet strip can be placed within the .kes worksheet by using a text note or sticky note.
