Responsible To: NHRMA President Responsibilities: Serves as a voting member of the NHRMA Board and is expected to attend and participate in all meetings of the Board. Encourages participation of students (at-large and in-chapter) throughout NHRMAs region in the NHRMA Student Conference. Collaborates with State Council College Relations Directors within NHRMAs region to: Promote scholarship programs, internships, special student activities, and/or sponsorship of conference attendance at the local, state, NHRMA region and/or national level. Facilitate sustainable student chapters via membership drives, integration of student chapter activities with Student Merit Award Program, and alignment of student chapter and professional chapter goals, when possible. Disseminate information from SHRMs Student Program Manager regarding student programs, scholarships, professional certification, etc. Encourage student participation in SHRM publications and awards programs. Develop new student chapters with assistance from local professional chapter. Serves on NHRMA Student Conference Planning Committee with duties to include: Forecast expected attendance and participate in development of initial budget to include travel stipends. Promote/collect/review travel stipend applications and allocate/distribute awards. Develop and distribute student communications regarding event. Monitor event registration by state/chapter and encourage participation. Plan and coordinate logistics for corporate visits (if applicable) with assistance from local chapter College Relations Director in host location. Facilitate leader/advisor roundtable break-out session at event. Facilitate cross-chapter communication within NHRMAs region using social media. Represents NHRMA in the HR community. Develop NHRMA student policies, as needed. Assists with other projects, as requested. Requirements: Must be a SHRM member in good standing residing and/or working in Alaska, Oregon or Washington. Must be able to attend NHRMA board meetings and annual conference and complete assigned activities in a timely fashion. SHRM certification preferred. Other HR-related certification accepted. Must be able to serve a one-year term beginning January 1st for a maximum of three years. Prior experience in SHRM College Relations volunteer role preferred.
