PURPOSE: To provide guidance and establish procedures for company alerts and emergencies requiring the immediate recall of Soldiersto include disaster preparedness operations and Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercises (EDRE). 2. APPLICABILITY: This policy applies to all Soldiers assigned/attached to the 110th Military Policy Company (Guard). This policy constitutes a direct order and violations are punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). 3. SCOPE: All Soldiers will become familiar with and obey this policy. 4. RESPONSIBILITIES: Company Commander: (1) Will ensure that unit readiness is maintained at the highest level possible for recall of unit and official notification. (2) Will determine what type of recall/alert to initiate to check the validity of alert rosters, unit recall procedures, and Soldiers adherence to this SOP. First Sergeant: (1) Advise the Commander on recall times and uniforms. Assist the Commander in assessing the unit readiness level through random unit recall/alert procedures. (3) Notify the Commander when the unit is 80% and 100% accountable. AFVP-110-CO SUBJECT: 110th Military Police Company (Guard) Policy Letter No. 15 Unit Alert/Recall Operations: (1) Provide the CQ with DA Form 1594 (Staff Duty Journal) Provide CQ with appropriate sign-in rosters. Maintain overall accountability of unit personnel and reporting procedures. Notify necessary sections of any additional requirements or support that they will provide based on the type of alert that is initiated. Charge of Quarters (CQ): (1) Will ensure all Soldiers sign in at the CQ desk on standardized sign-in sheets upon arrival at the company. Will make telephonic contact with the Commander or 1SG when all platoon sergeants have been notified. Will document initiation of the alert on DA Form 1594 (Staff Duty Journal). (4) Will disseminate only information relevant to the alert. Phone line will be kept clear to the best of the CQ ability. Armorer. Be prepared to issue weapons and ammunition based on the Commanders guidance and the order of precedence by platoon. Platoon Sergeants. Notify operations when each platoon is 80% and 100% accountable, and provide a list of personnel that were not contacted. 5. GENERAL PROVISIONS. a. All unit-initiated alerts/recalls will be conducted similar to alerts called by 89th Military Police Brigade. The difference will be the initiator and the CQ actions. If the 89th MP BDE notifies the CQ of an alert, the CQ will immediately notify the Commander and wait for further instructions. If the Commander initiates an alert, the CQ will immediately notify the AFVP-110-CO SUBJECT: 110th Military Police Company (Guard) Policy Letter No. 15 Unit Alert/Recall platoon sergeants, then return the Commanders phone call to notify her that all platoon sergeants have been contacted (or the NCO that was contacted from the platoon if the platoon sergeant was unavailable). b. When each Soldier is called, that Soldier will notify the next Soldier on the alert roster as dictated by the platoon. Once the last Soldier in each squad or section is contacted, that Soldier will contact his or her section NCOIC or squad leader with a report of who was contacted and who was not contacted. Each Section NCOIC or squad leader will then contact his or her platoon sergeant with an accountability report. c. In addition to the information provided in paragraph six of this policy letter, each Soldier will report with his or her identification card and identification tags. Any other items that are required to accompany each Soldier will be announced in the message each Soldier receives. d. All Soldiers must be present and/or accounted for with the specified equipment at the designated time of unit alert notification. e. Soldiers will avoid calling the CQ for further information. If a Soldier cannot contact his/her immediate supervisor or another Soldier in his or her section, squad or platoon, then the CQ can be contacted for clarification. 6. SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS. When the Commander initiates an alert, code words will be used to quickly and accurately explain all pertinent information to Soldiers. a. Pink Tomatoes: This code indicates that all Soldiers will report to the unit in the Physical Fitness Uniform (PFU). If the PFU is modified to any other form than the seasonal uniform the unit is currently wearing, it will be indicated in the initial alert and passed on to all Soldiers. Orange Cucumbers: This code indicates that all Soldiers will report to the unit in the BDU. Purple Bananas: This code indicates that all Soldiers will report to the unit in the BDU with load bearing equipment (LBE) or load bearing vest (LBV). If a rucksack is required, the platoon standard packing list will accompany the Soldier. Black Mustard: This code indicates a telephonic alert. Soldiers are not required to report to the unit. Normally, information will be passed, or the code word alone will be passed. Normal procedures described in paragraph 5b will be followed. If no other information is given, each Soldier will acknowledge receipt of the message and continue with the instructions of this policy letter.
