Overview In order to promote human progress and overcome future pitfalls, each generation must first study and build upon the accomplishments and successes of their forefathers and mothers. As participants of the human search for identity and purpose, U.S. History students will further their socialization by immersing themselves in the traditions and ideals of famous and infamous people who have helped to influenced our nations progress. Students will investigate progressing ideas and technological developments through different eras of our nations history by learning how to analyze primary and secondary sources. This is a college prep course and emphasis will be placed on reading, writing and critical analysis. Overall assessment of these skills will culminate in a midterm, essays based on document based questions, a research paper and a final exam.
