1.2 Area in Which Property is Located:

Faneuil Hall is a free-standing brick structure situated at the west end of Boston's festival market area, known as Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The building is loosely bounded by North Street to the north, Quincy Market to the east, an elevated brick mall at the rear of 50 State Street to the south, and Congress Street to the west. The open space surrounding Faneui! Hall, traditionally known as Dock Square, abuts Boston's civic and financial centers, specifically, Boston City Hall and Government Center to the west, and the Central Business District to the south.
