Purpose of the Program Eligibility Chart The purpose of this Program Eligibility Chart is to provide American Job Center staff with a summary of the eligibility requirements for all of the programs available through the Alexandria Workforce Development Center and Arlington Employment Center. termination or layoff, and eligible for or exhausted UI and unlikely to return to industry or occupation; or 2. Lost job from permanent closure or substantial layoff of a plant, facility or enterprise; or 3. Was self-employed and now unemployed because of economic conditions or natural disaster; or 4. Displaced Homemaker; or 5. Spouse of a member of Armed Forces who lost employment due to permanent change in duty station or is unemployed, underemployed and has difficulty finding or upgrading employment.

Pregnant/Parenting; or 7. Subject to the juvenile or adult justice system; or 8. Has a disability; or 9. Requires additional assistance to complete an educational program, or to secure and hold employment.

Nurse Aide Training Program With an increasing number of people needing specialized health care services and an aging population, job opportunities as a nurse aide continue to grow. Course is designed to provide students with skills needed to earn certification as a Certified Nurse Aide. The certification will equip students to work in nursing homes, hospitals, and home health settings. This 15-week course combines practical experience in a local nursing home with classroom instruction. Classroom instruction is held at the Arlington Career Center on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Practical experience is held at a local nursing home over several week nights. Tuition of $999 includes textbooks.
