Whitchurch High School

5136205-51556600Guidance on Home Learning – Year 8Each department has provided some guidance on activities students should be completing at home. Students have been directed to try and follow their daily school timetable to try and provide some form of structure to their day. Students can complete work in their exercise books but if they do not have these, we would suggest they keep their work together in either a book/folder or digitally. It would be good to help develop students’ organisational skills over this time as this is a useful life skill. Students should try to complete any online assessments and quizzes that their teachers set them and try to keep all their learning together to show their teachers when they return to school. As already mentioned, momentum is the key if they are to maintain good learning habits and not fall behind their peers who will be engaging in work from home. We would also encourage students to use free time they have to read, be creative, take regular exercise and relax.TeamsThe Microsoft Teams App can be downloaded to PCs, Macs or mobile devices although does work better on desktop devices. It can also be accessed by visiting using full school email addresses and passwords. User guides for this have already been emailed to parents. Please email helpdesk@whitchurch.cardiff.sch.uk if passwords need to be reset.Other supportWe will be sending out details on HWB in due course. In addition, many departments will suggest further websites in the following guidance pages such as mymaths.co.uk.
