Details: Not all heroes in Collinsville wear badges. The volunteers of the Collinsville Fire Department would like to award (1) First - Fifth Grade student who attends Collinsville Public Schools a complete set of school supplies and a new backpack and (1) Collinsville Public Schools teacher a $50 Walmart shopping spree for classroom supplies for being heroes in the community.

How?: We need you to tell us who is deserving of these awards. Anyone (regardless of where you live) can nominate a student or teacher. Please send an email to collinsvillevolfd@ or a Facebook Message to Collinsville Okla. Volunteer Firefighters nominating a student or teacher. In a paragraph or less, tell us why they are a hero. Do they go the `extra mile' and help their parents out at home? Did they help a neighbor, friend, or fellow Collinsville resident during our recent flooding events? Do they stay after school to help with homework assignments? Do they volunteer their time coaching a youth sports team or sponsoring a school club? Whatever their impact may be, we want to hear about it!

Process: Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday August 2nd. Be sure to include your name and contact information in addition to your nominee's name, contact information, and story. Collinsville Fire Department volunteers will select winners during their monthly training meeting held Monday August 5th; winners will be notified the following day. On Saturday August 10th, the winners and one guest each will be picked up in a fire engine by the fire department, given Collinsville Fire Department Supporter tshirts, and driven to Walmart to make their purchases. Afterward, they will be treated to lunch at Jalape?o Grill in Collinsville with the firefighters.

Legal: Student must attend and Teacher must teach at Collinsville Public Schools / Student's school supplies to be purchased can be found at: collinsville.k12.ok.us; backpack value not to exceed $25 / Student must be accompanied by parent or guardian age 18 or over / Teacher will receive $50 Walmart gift card to be used at time of award shopping trip / Collinsville Fire Chief has the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time during the nomination period / Collinsville Fire Department reserves the right to change the award date with little notice due to call volume or unexpected events
