DESCRIPTION
Arguably, no field in medicine has a faster pace of change, innovation, and randomized trial data than cardiovascular disease. An annual update of the broad range of cardiovascular issues for primary care practitioners and other practitioners is always of great intrinsic value. This conference will provide updates on surgical and percutaneous management of severe mitral valve regurgitation, the management of STEMI, evaluation and management of atrial fibrillation, and other cardiovascular diseases, diagnoses, and treatments.
AUDIENCE
Target audience includes Primary Care Physicians, ACPs, and Nurses.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
? Evaluate recent trial data on when ablation of atrial fibrillation improves management
? Recall and apply the new hypertension guidelines and updated goals for blood pressure
? Identify when to refer patients with atrial fibrillation for left atrial appendage closure
? Recognize when to refer patients with stroke and PFO for percutaneous PFO closure
? Discuss current surgical and percutaneous treatments for severe mitral valve
