I grieved so much during that time with losing my identity, mentorships, friendships, and structure. I truly thought that the job I had was my God-given purpose. However, God had other plans for my life. He had been nudging me in a different direction for years, but I ignored Him because it would be too hard to start over. I was comfortable in the world I had created. After the shock wore off, I began to spend more and more time with God to gain clarity of next steps. I didn’t have any energy and knew I couldn’t do anything on my own. He paved the way for me to begin writing, which helped me release an abundance of unhealthy emotions I had trapped inside of me for years. It took a lot of trust, patience, and self-control to stay on this new path. However, God’s presence and provision helped me handle all the unknowns I faced. The peace and contentment I feel is hard to put into words, but I continue to give God all the glory for where I am today. . 00Personal InsightsAfter working 31 years in a profession that I loved, I was suddenly faced with a health crisis that ended my career abruptly. For unbelievers, the answers to their questions can be insurmountable; yet God stands ready to comfort when we grieve and to forgive when the loss is due to our own personal choicesThe prophet Ezekiel continued to obey God even though he was going through an unbearable heartbreak. Perhaps the hardest of all the commands God would give him. During life’s interruptions, we must continue to be obedient to God. A crisis does not exempt us from obedience. As we repent of the sins between us and God, we will feel His presence immediately and that comfort will guide us through our most difficult emotions. Our faithful reactions will be a witness for unbelievers to want to learn more about God. Prepare your heart for troubled seasons by spending time with God, memorizing scripture, and serving Him. 00RevelationAs believers, we have the wonderful promise of hope today and Heaven tomorrow, but the pain of present circumstances can leave us with many unanswered questions and cause us to question the goodness of God.
