Rest assured though, we will be back in 2021 and look forward to seeing all of you in Prescott! December 2020from the president:As we look toward 2021, we do so with a very different perspective. We have spent the better part of the year dealing with the challenges of a worldwide pandemic. This has brought some significant changes to our courts and how we do our daily business. We have been compelled into a virtual world, where meetings and even court hearings are done through video. More staff are telecommuting than ever before, and we have a heavier reliance on technology. We have heard phrases this year such as “You’re muted”, and “Can you see me?” more than we ever expected to. We’ve also learned new terms like “social distancing” and our latest fashion accessory has become a mask. As courts, we adapted quickly and implemented changes that would keep our cases moving. We are resilient and strong and have proven our commitment to the communities that we serve. Each of you play an important role in making these changes so successful and you should be proud of the work that has been done and the changes we have made. I truly believe many of the new innovations that have come about will continue to be used long after we get through to the other side of this pandemic. The Arizona Courts Association recently held their annual elections and I will soon be handing over the baton as President to Danny Arreola.
