JEAN NADEAU - Optimist International

 JEAN NADEAU

INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Friday, July 7 ? First Business Session

Jean Nadeau is an author, international professional speaker and a radio host in Quebec, Canada. He is uncompromising on this: he is not an inspirational nor a motivational speaker! He actually likes to say that he is more of an intense speaker. He is frank, brutal, tough and sometimes even obnoxious, yet very funny! However, once you get to know him, you understand that he has a big heart and an even bigger gut for how you can and should re-think your personal and professional growth. He tells it like it is and gets in your face to make you face reality. Brace yourself and meet Jean Nadeau.

Jean Nadeau explains his keynote presentation: "I've got no time to lose. Nor do you. So brace yourself, things could turn ugly. A 60 minute eye-to-eye talk

about what it takes to bring out the best in youth, in yourself and in your community. I am the Hulk of personal development. A good guy at first sight, but when it comes to personal development ? you have to be prepared for this ? I kick butt! In fact, I wake up every morning to make people uncomfortable with the aspects of their life they know they need to change. Uncomfortable to the point that they may finally decide to take action and move from where they are to where they want to be in life. My challenge is to have people re-think personal development in a more lucid and practical way."

Bienvenido!

Greetings Optimists, Families & Friends ?

Welcome to the 99th Annual Convention of Optimist International! And welcome to the beautiful city of Albuquerque set in the great American Southwest. On behalf of the 85,000 members of Optimist International ? have fun, explore, meet new Optimists, share with each other, and take home great ideas to help your club and your community! Together We Can!

We are in the YEAR OF THE HONOR Club! The Honor Club criteria were set years ago, and have been recently re-established. The Honor Club criteria are really a road map to club success. If followed: they keep your club active, involved with the youth and the community you serve, connected with your District, in touch with our great Foundations ? the OIF and the CCOF, help you add new members every year, and of course having fun while we serve! Honor Club is really a basic job description for all of us to follow ? the minimum level of service every club should strive for!

There will be ample opportunity to learn about all the details and aspects of Honor Club via a number of great workshops! You will have the opportunity to explore, learn and share with your fellow Optimists. Take in all that you can ? the workshops will help you grow in optimism and be sure to share your experience and new found knowledge with those back in your Districts!

There are many other activities as well ? Foundation meetings, the House of Optimism, District dinners, and super local foods, tours and entertainment options. Have fun ? take it all in ? and remember ? Together We Can!

Yours in Optimism,

Jim Kondrasuk Optimist International President, 2016-2017
