Tournament Rules

1. Tournament will be governed by USA Softball rules:

Pool Play: You may bat as many as you wish. Remember, if you bat everyone, and there is a player injury - they cannot continue, there will be an out recorded in that spot.

Keep integrity in the batting order. Exchange lineups at the plate

If there is a player that a college coaches wishes to see bat again, both coaches must agree that can happen!

Free substitutions on defense. Runners for pitcher and catcher only:

By the book in eliminations!

Each team must be registered with USA Softball. A copy of your official roster (signed) and insurance certificates must be turned into the tournament director upon check in.

Face masks on helmets are required. Metal cleats are allowed.

2. Friday play starts at 10 a.m.; Saturday play starts at 9 a.m. and Sunday play starts at 9:00 a.m. Tournament format is 4 game pool play followed by a single elimination tournament starting Sat. afternoon.

3. Flip coin to determine home team 15 minutes prior to beginning of game; no grace time; no infield practice on playing field (even before first game). Lineups are to be exchanged by the team scorekeepers before the scheduled starting time of each of their games.

4. All games have a time limit.

Pool play games are one hour –twenty minutes, drop dead. Games tied at the expiration of the allowed time will end in a tie.

Elimnations: Strictly, USA Softball Rules for eliminations with the following exceptions.

Eliminations will have a winner. 1:25 game time limits.

If tied at the end of 1:25, ITB will be in effect the next inning.

*Last batted out will start at second the first inning of ITB.

**If still tied after the completion of the first ITB inning, the last batted out will start at third for each successive inning.

Runners for pitcher and catcher must be an eligible sub per USA Softball rules.

Be prepared to play 30 min prior to posted game time in eliminations

5. Run rules :

NO RUN RULE IN POOL PLAY.

Single Elims: twelve (12) after 3innings, ten (10) after 4 innings and eight (8) runs ahead rule after 5 innings.

6. Absolutely no protests allowed. If there is a situation, the Umpire In Chief may be contacted for his/her determination. His/her decision is final!

7. All games will be played at the Tyger River Complex

8. Check in at each respective Pod (blue, red, green) where you play your first game. Please check in at the tournament site director’s tent inside the softball park to pick up any last-minute information and to be sure we have a way to reach you in case of schedule changes (preferably a cell phone number). Any scheduling changes (such as changes due to weather-related problems) will be determined by the tournament officials, park officials and Umpire-in-Chief.

In the event of weather-related postponements, the tournament playing schedule is subject to modification by the tournament committee, irrespective of the 5 game minimum. As we can’t control the weather, there will be no refunds, due to cancellation of play or modification forced by inclement weather.

9. There is no gate charge for fans at this event .

10. Each team’s coach or scorekeeper is responsible for reporting your team’s game scores under tournament director’s tent.

11. Pitching rubbers are set at 43’ for all ages.
