You are to research a weather phenomenon such as hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, flash floods, droughts, avalanches, ice storms, acid rain, landslides, lightning, dust storms, lake effect snows, water spouts, wind storms, etc. You may choose another weather phenomenon as long as you get it approved by Mr. Poston.

You are to cover the following topics, as they apply to your weather phenomenon.

• Cause of the phenomenon (What is it? Where in the world it occurs? When it occurs? Why it occurs?

• Are there different types

• Effects of the weather phenomenon

• Safety considerations

• Fun Facts/Stories

• See rubric for further requirements

• POWERPOINT...7-10+ slides. Must contain appropriate backgrounds and graphics, be grammatically correct, have a title slide and end with a Bibliography slide. References to include but not limited to 3 sources.

• RESEARCH REPORT...3 Typed, double spaced pages, in your OWN words. Bibliography to follow on last page. References to include but not limited to 3 sources. Handwritten reports should be 6 pages plus bibliography. Demonstrations or visuals CAN be included in presentation.

I am available on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for further assistance. This will also require additional work outside of class/school.
