Inventors and Inventions Brochure

You will be choosing an inventor and gathering information about their life and their work. You should include a short biography of the inventor’s life and describe what they have invented. Be sure to explain how the inventor’s work has changed or improved the way in which we live today.

What should be included?

Inventor’s name

Date of birth and death (if applicable).

Biography of life.

What did he/she invent or how did he/she discover it?

How did it affect our world/society/environment?

Pictures (Portrait of inventor can be drawn)

Main Focus of Your Project

Topics to Research and Include in Your Project:

• Who invented it: Who was the inventor? When did this inventor live? How was this inventor educated? Where did he/she live? If you can find out, tell why the inventor wanted to invent the invention. Did this inventor invent other things?

• When was it invented: Give the date of the invention.

• What the invention does: Clearly explain what the invention does and how it can be used. Is it used for communication, transportation, fun, food, medicine, science, or something else? (Use Key Concepts: Function (How does it work?), Form (What is it like?) Connection (How is Connected to other things?) Change (How has it changed?)

• The importance of the invention: Explain why the invention is important. Has it saved lives, helped transportation, simplified communication, increased the food supply, or is it simply for fun?

• The invention in today’s world: Describe how the inventor’s work has changed or improved the way in which we live today.
