Default Clearance Statement

The Financial Aid Office has completed the initial review of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The U.S. Department of Education has indicated that you are in DEFAULT on a federal student loan. You are not eligible to receive any Federal financial aid until your default has been resolved. Please refer to the details below for instructions on resolving your default situation.

PROCESSING OF YOUR AID HAS STOPPED UNTIL THIS FORM AND ALL DOCUMENTS ARE RETURNED

Please contact the listed agency on your Student Aid Report or the Department of Education for information regarding this matter. If you need assistance locating the contact information regarding your defaulted loan please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Reinstatement of Title IV financial aid eligibility

To be eligible for federal financial aid, you must submit a copy of your default clearance letter from the appropriate agencies indicating that your account has been resolved. The document must clearly state that your default has been cleared and that you are again eligible for Title IV financial aid.

Be sure to attach all the necessary documentation. If the information received is incomplete, we may ask you to submit further documentation.
