Speakers: David Kan, MD - Chief Medical Officer at Bright Heart Health and volunteer clinical

faculty at UCSF

Tim Cermak, MD - graduated from Case Western Reserve Medical School in 1972 and completed psychiatric residency and a post-doctoral fellowship in neurophysiology at Stanford. He co-published "Marijuana: What's a Parent to Believe?"

Ralph Cantor - Recently retired teacher and counselor of 25 years and 13 years as the Coordinator for Drug, Alcohol and Violence Prevention for the Alameda County Office of Education. He has a Masters Degrees in Teaching, Counseling and School Administration.

Description: This all day Continuing Medical Education (CME) training will focus on the use,

misuse and abuse of cannabis with a focus on behavioral health.

Learning Objectives: 1) Be able to describe neurobiology of cannabinoids and cannabis use;

2) Be able to reference data (and recognize where there is an absence of data) related to medicinal use of cannabis; 3) Be able to recognize patterns associated with the misuse of cannabis; 4) Be able to describe unique issues related to cannabis use among youth and adolescents and make recommendations as appropriate.

Audience: All clinical classifications of HCSA/BHCS and contracted

CBO staff are invited and highly encouraged to attend.
