It is difficult to find a Thesaurus that works well for various levels of English Language Learners. I had a bunch of different ones in my classroom and tried them all, allowing students to work with them. I continually came back to this one. The print is a perfect size. It shows both synonyms and antonyms. There is a legend on every other page so students can refer to it without turning the page and they can have immediate access to it. This is important when we are discussing the words. Many entries have a phrase using the word. My ultimate thesaurus would be exactly like this with the addition of sentences using the words. I have copies of the Scholastic Children's Thesaurus because it does have the sentences. I am chucking all other versions and using only these two in my classroom.

The Thesaurus for Kids is a wonderful writing tool for beginning authors or for children who want to erase "wimpy" words from their writing pieces. It opens up the amazing world of words for young scribes!
