Dr. Ed Miller Gadsden City Schools

Dr. Ed gave us a great snapshot (and video) of our Gadsden City School System. The focus may have been on Gadsden City High School, but the facts for the entire system are very impressive. There are over 600 employees. The budget is $51,000,00 at the moment.

Gadsden City High has about 1000 students less than Hoover. Yet we have to compete athletically and scholastically with such behemoths. And yes, we do well!

A great deal was made of the consolidation of three other high schools into the Gadsden City High School Titans. When asked how difficult, Dr. Ed's humility came through. He said it was not the leaders who made it happen but each student, parent and faculty member who believed it could happen. He joked the only ones complaining were already graduates of the other high schools.

It's obvious what a great facility our high school is. What is outstanding is the support of the arts, athletics and scholastics together that make a Titan! From Symphony to Swimming, students leave prepared for life and a career.
